On the 28th of February, 2010 Honda MotoKids was launched at McAdam MX Park in Victoria. Honda MotoKids is run by Lee Hogan, a former National MX champion, and now one of the leading Coaches
in the country. I attended with my 8 year old son, and I must say, it was a fantastic day.
Lee and his coaching staff were fantastic to watch in action. They were patient with the kids, diligant with safety and supervision, and communicated instruction extremely well. All kids that
attended on the day seemed to have a fantastic time, and learnt some very important skills.
The day was made up of a few components.
- Honda had provided some "Come and Try" bikes, so children could try a new bike to see if they liked it.
- Fox Racing had provided loan safety equipment and apparael for those lacking on the day.
- Free Riding sessions in the morning to assess the groups current skill level.
- Lee Hogan and his team gave a lesson on correct body position and the reasons for it.
- Another Free Riding session to practice the new body position skills just taught.
- After lunch, it was time for some interactive games and Free Riding again.
- The day was finished off with coaching on bermed corners and some more free riding to practice
